Detail – Basins

Bathroom/WC basins are more creative than ever, material and colour options are endless now! Here are just some of my favourite alternatives to the traditional white ceramic sink with polished chrome taps.

1 – White Porcelain with painted black fronted vintage sink. Style with a Carrara marble, retro inspired lighting and I suggest going for matte black fixtures as shown or a solid brass mixer.

2 – Metallic coated ceramic wash basin inspired by traditional Turkish craftsmanship. If you’re going for copper then try a matte black mixer as before, stay away from mixing with other metallics and use only as an accent colour.

3 – Cast concrete twin basin. The raw quality of concrete and the simplicity of the material actually makes it very versatile. This basin has been teamed with hand made tiles and industrial style painted brickwork. This type of basin could quite easily exist in an ultra modern, white washed apartment too.

4  – Solid marble the Italian way. If you can afford it then marble will certainly add glamour to your bathroom. It offers a smooth and sleek finish as well being hard wearing and adaptable to being carved to any shape. Many types of veining is available so if your wanting that unique aesthetic then marble is your dream material.
