Kitchen/Living space by McLaren.Excell – Merrydown/Dorset
This weeks interior of the week comes from the amazingly talented London based architect firm McLaren Excell. This kitchen/living space is part of a two story converted cob building, originally built as a Victorian school for girls. The bedroom has been suspended from the roof structure keeping the ground floor space free of supporting beams and as open plan as possible. McLaren Excell’s choice of materials gives the space an organic feel with birch plywood, recycled wood, concrete and brass installed in their natural state, they simplify the interior and harmonise with it’s original architecture.
